Have come back to my usual life, endless paper revision. I don't want to complain, but writing a paper is such a long process. Need to find something to refresh myself. Maybe play a new computer game?

Finalized my immigration in Detroit/Windsor today. It took one year and nine months to get it done. So I guess it is worth a mark.

Came back on Oct 10. My first flight was 3 hours late due an A/C problem. It made me miss my flight to London. As a result I arrived at 8pm instead of 4pm. Besides that, it went well.

 

During my 25 days in China, I went to four cities, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin and Luoyang. It was a quite busy trip and tough at the beginning due to jet lag. But I met many friends and had many good meals. Special thanks to Zhang Ying, who let me live in his house and volunteered to be my driver.

 

Some thoughts after the trip:

 

1. The traffic in Beijing is really horrible while the prices of homes are not much better.

2. Food is so cheap and good in China.

3. Friends haven't changed much, but many are married or almost married now.

4. Need to make some real money.

 

After spending 11 days in Beijing and Shanghai, I finanlly got back home. No specail feelings, just good to see old friends. Thanks to Ma, I had lamb soup this morning. The taste brought back many memories. We were all high schools kids then and had lots of fun together. Gonna drink with them tonight. It is will be tough because many of them can drink so much. But it will be fun.
