| October 04 Trust me on this, it is necessary to hire a copy editor for important documents, especially when you are lack of patience, like me. Just had my job application materials proofread. It is actually not so expensive, $40 for the cover letter, teaching philosophy and research statement all together. I was so surprised to find out about the very basic spelling mistakes after several revisions I've made. Your supervisor may look out for you on this, however, he might overlook small things. I regret that I hadn't hired a copy editor before I sent out my first job application. In a profession where presentation is everything, it could be fatal.
